Wembury Beach
Less than a mile from Langdon Court, South Devon
Owned by the National Trust, Wembury Beach is surrounded by low cliffs and overlooks the magnificent scenery of the Yealm Estuary and Mewstone. The beach is a Marine Conservation Area. It is popular with surfers and divers as well as families.
Close to the beach there is a café in a restored mill, shops and a large car park. There is a Marine interpretation centre with lots of activities including rock pool rambles. And breathtaking cliff walks to Bovisand, Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo.
Lydford Gorge
30 miles from Langdon Court, South Devon
Lydford Gorge is an area of outstanding natural beauty with an enchanting history with many legends. The gorge has been owned and maintained by the National Trust since 1947 and can be explored through a variety of walks.
You can discover the magical 30 metre-high Whitelady Waterfall, walk out over the bubbling Devil’s Cauldron or look out for wildlife, plants and woodland birds.
Mowellham Quay

Morwellham Quay is a historic river port on the bank of the River Tamar just outside Tavistock, South Devon. The port was developed to support the local mines and was at one time the world’s largest copper exporter and is now run as a living museum.
There are open air displays at the museum which include the restored 19th century village, the docks and quays and restored sailing barges. For many, a highlight of the visit is the narrow-gauge Mine Railway which can be toured by small train. You can travel along the banks of the River Tamar taking in riverside scenery before venturing deep underground in the famous George & Charlotte copper mine.

Eden Project
42.8 miles for Langdon Court, South Devon
The Eden Project in Cornwall is the world's largest greenhouse. The project was designed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw which took 2½ years to construct and opened on 17th March 2001. The Eden Project is sited in a former china clay pit at Bodelva, near St Austell, Cornwall.
This unique project comprises a number of domes that house plant species from around the world, each dome emulating a natural biome. The first dome emulates a tropical environment, the second a warm temperate, Mediterranean environment. If you're planning a visit to the Eden Project, allow a whole day to fully enjoy the site.
National Marine Aquarium

The National Marine Aquarium is located on the Barbican near Plymouth City Centre. It is the largest aquarium in the United Kingdom and the deepest in Europe.
The aquarium is a major attraction and also a centre of education, conservation and research. The aquarium includes one of Britain’s deepest tanks and over 400 different species of animals, including sharks and turtles.
