Planning your perfect wedding day is a very important job and we believe that attention to detail and forward planning is essential. Here at the Langdon Court Hotel our wedding planner will help you every step of the way to create the wedding of your dreams.
18 months to go
Announce your engagement, discuss what you both want from the wedding, choose your ceremony type, set your budget, open a wedding bank account and book an appointment with our wedding coordinator to look around.
12 months to go
Organise wedding insurance, set a date, choose your attendants, compile a guest list, arrange the wedding licence, book the registrar, book the ceremony and reception venue, start a scrapbook, book a photographer, book a videographer, book the entertainment, begin shopping for the dress and find a cake maker.
9 months to go
Choose and order a dress, book the florist, order the cake and buy stationery
6 months to go
Book transport, choose bridesmaids/flower girl outfits, choose the mens` outfits, book your honeymoon, have a dress fitting, reserve accommodation for your guests, find a hairdresser, choose a makeup artist and select your readings
3 months to go
Buy the wedding rings, send out invitations, choose wedding favours, buy wedding lingerie, purchase your going away outfit, book your wedding night accommodation, create a seating plan, try out table decorations.
2 months to go
Choose the music for your ceremony, check your passports are in date, make your gift list, confirm the menu with the reception venue, confirm the registrar booking, finalise your seating plan, remind key guests about their speeches, buy a guest book, choose the music for the reception and wedding breakfast.
1 month to go
Write vows, hold hen and stag parties, have final dress fitting, run through the ushers and best mans duties with them, order place cards
2 weeks to go
Wear your wedding shoes around the house to break them in, pack holiday clothes, inform the photographer of any must have photos, order travellers cheques, have hair and makeup trials, buy gifts for the wedding party, remind your fiancé to get hair cut
1 week to go
Confirm times with venue, photographer, florist, cars, music and entertainment, arrange for the cake to be delivered to the venue and make final honeymoon checks
The day before
Have a manicure and pedicure, relax and have an early night
On the day
The best man should:
- Have the rings
- Collect buttonholes and flowers
- Be ready to take any hired suits back on time
The Maid of Honour should:
- Keep you calm and relaxed
- Help you dress and arrange your veil
- Take your dress away to be cleaned
- Pack up wedding presents
